夏の風物詩、蚊取線香は香ばしい匂いと煙を漂わせながら虫を退治してくれる、日本が誇る優れものです。
昔は蚊を防ぐためによもぎや松の葉をいぶしたりしていました。明治にはいりますと除虫菊粉が輸入され蚊取線香がつくられるようになりました。当初は「棒状蚊取線香」でしたが、その後は長時間使える「渦巻型蚊取線香」が生まれました。
蚊取り器は、鉄皿に蚊取り線香スタンドを載せたデザインと茶の湯釜に伝わる砂肌を生かした蓋物タイプデザインの2種類です。
蚊取り線香スタンドは蚊取線香を置く方法と中心の真鍮棒に蚊取り線香を取り付ける２つの方法があります。用途に応じて使いわけてください。
使用後はやわらかな布で拭き、水分湿気のない場所に保管してください。
