The ash falls into the incense box, so it is safe to use and does not stain the surrounding area. When you're done using them, simply put the lid back on and the box will remain standing, adding a touch of ambiance to the room.
And the walnut wooden lid of the replacement lid is engraved with a figure of Genji incense.

This incense box is designed with consideration for incense ash. The incense is placed at an angle in the holder. The cast iron lid has a technique called Haochi, which is handed down from a traditional tea ceremony pot. All shapes are different because each one is hit with a hammer to form a mountain range.
